The cake dates back to the late 70s was first submitted to Southern Living in 1978 by Mrs. L.H. Wiggins of Greensboro, North Carolina.
This cake became so popular it even won at a Kentucky State Fair in a baking competition.
This cake is sweet, moist and the nuts give it that crunchy roasted perfect bite.
This is one of my favorite recipes when I need to use up at least 4 bananas that are overripe, this is the perfect solution!
More often you will see this cake displayed with three layers of pillowy soft cream cheese frosting.
I take the easy way out and either pour the mixture into a 13 x 9 sheet cake pan or bundt to save time.
Either way, the flavors are a wonderful blend of spice, banana, and pineapple enjoyed by all.
