This healthy thick and fudgy soft serve chocolate blizzard treat is a brownie lover’s dream come true!
Growing up, I used to absolutely love Dairy Queen chocolate blizzards.
Rich brownie batter and fudgy brownie bites are blended into a creamy chocolate soft serve so deliciously thick that if you hold it upside down, it stays in the serving cup.
But even a small DQ chocolate blizzard packs in a shocking 770 calories, over 100 grams of carbs, and close to 80 grams of sugar – and that’s just for a small.
Not to mention the corn syrup, white flour, artificial colors, and preservatives.

The chocolate treat can be dairy free, egg free, raw, vegan, gluten free, paleo, and added sugar free.
It can be nut free if you use something like coconut butter, sunbutter, or your favorite peanut butter substitute.
There’s also a banana free option in the recipe for those who prefer their chocolate frozen dessert to not have any banana flavor at all.
Or use any brownie recipe, homemade or store-bought. I added the vegan brownie recipe mentioned below. The brownie part is optional, so feel free to skip it or stir in mini chocolate chips or top with chocolate syrup and coconut whipped cream instead.
Healthy Chocolate Brownie Blizzard
- *Make sure bananas are overripe (turning brown). Peel and freeze them. This can be done days or even months in advance so you can make the recipe in just a few minutes any time you wish.
Blend everything except the brownies until smooth in a blender, food processor, or Vitamix. If desired, stir in bite-sized pieces of the optional brownies, and a handful of chocolate chips or any other add-ins of choice.
